About

Our Story

I was looking for a fresh flower alternative for my wedding and I fell in love with the idea of paper flowers. I had your typical traditional FIlipino wedding with 10 bridesmaids, 10 groomsmen and a long list of sponsors. I made all of the flowers for our wedding and I wouldn’t change a thing. After the wedding I kept making paper flowers in a little office of mine and then my little hobby took a new life. That’s how With Love & Petals was created. Some sort of happy accident you could say. Since then, we've played a memorable role in providing paper flowers to the brides and grooms of the US.

While With Love & Petals started off as a simple project just for fun, I helped design paper flowers for many couples for their special occasion. Not limiting myself to weddings, I've participated in workshops, charity events, and personal parties and we've worked with New York Times Best Selling Authors and award winning, international photographers. I designed a company that not only provides individuals with paper flowers, but I provide you with lasting memories that will touch people's lives.

What makes our business stand out is that the heart of my materials hold a sentimental value. Just as each of my products are built with love, the materials my clients choose to use hold a significant place in their hearts. I've had a chance to work with love letters, sheet music of a song composed especially for the bride and groom’s first dance as husband and wife, and even turned an author's book into his bride's bouquet.

These are exciting times for With Love & Petals and I think you will get a sense of my passion, expertise and reliability as you browse through our shop and view our trademark handmade book page bouquets, boutonnieres and other handmade items.

I hope you’ll find my site helpful and would love the opportunity to work with you and have you be a part of the #PetalTribe

Meet me, Medjoy

Hi! I'm Medjoy. I am a Filipino American who loves to laugh, dance, spend time with her family and create. I went from a 9-5 as a RA II in Research and Development working in a diagnostic company to making paper flowers and owning my own business. I’m a stay-at-home mom, a mother of 2 and a wife to a wonderful supportive husband (without him I wouldn't have gotten this far). My family calls me Meds and my friends call me Joy. I am the oldest of 3 and also the shortest. I was born and raised in San Diego and have lived here all my life.

I start everyday with a hot cup of coffee I make with my AeroPress and soak in a few minutes of alone time before my kids and husband get out of bed. Summer is my favorite season because I love the hot weather and the way the sun feels on my skin. If I could live anywhere in the world, it would probably be on some island close to the beach. My next vacation would be to go to the Philippines with my family so they can meet my relatives there and get to know a little more about our culture and our people. If there was one thing I could do more than one time it would be to hug my grandma and grandpa again. I miss them so much. My super power would be to stop time like Zack Morris on Saved by the Bell. My favorite snack is fruit. Especially watermelon and mangoes. If I could have any career in the planet it would be an astronaut. They are so lucky they get to see and experience the universe from their point of view and if I could eat on food for the rest of my life it would be sushi.

Thank you for letting me share my art with you. It's truly a blessing to have this opportunity. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything.
